Council is also expected to hold an executive session starting around 7 p.m. to hear matters concerning litigation concerning the City.
The general public is not allowed in executive sessions. However, the media is allowed to attend and observe, but is bound not to disclose what occurs unless the discussion is outside the legal parameters of the executive session. For example, votes or decisions are not allowed during an executive session.
Council can, however, reconvene a public meeting after and executive session and take decisive action on the topic that was discussed during the closed-door meeting.
