Tri-County Hazardous Waste & Recycling committee to hold meeting Sept. 14 at 9 a.m.

The Dalles, OR --The Steering Committee of the Tri-County (Hood River, Sherman, and Wasco) Hazardous Waste & Recycling Program will hold a meeting on September 14, from 9 AM to 11 AM. at the Wasco County Public Works Conference Room in The Dalles, Oregon.  The meeting can also be accessed virtually upon request.

  Representatives from the member agencies of the counties of Wasco, Sherman and Hood River, and the cities of The Dalles, Hood River, Cascade Locks, Mosier, Dufur and Maupin will hold their meeting to discuss the following agenda items:  [Approval of Minutes, Progress Reports, Update/Status on Staffing, Work Plan Subcommittee Appointment, and other miscellaneous items.]

 The nine governments signed an intergovernmental agreement in November 2003 to build and operate two permanent household hazardous waste collection facilities in Hood River and The Dalles, and conduct satellite collection events throughout the region. Wasco County is the lead agency. The facilities and events collect hazardous wastes from households; businesses and institutions which are Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators, as well as pesticide wastes from farmers and ranchers.  The program’s grand opening took place on July 29th, 2006.

TD Planning Commission to consider 60' tall housing unit at special meeting on Aug. 11 at 5:30 p.m.

Request: Approval of a height increase to exceed the maximum allowed height of the underlying zoning district for a mixed-use multi-family development. The proposed height of the building is 60’, which exceeds the maximum building height within the Central Business Commercial zoning district of 55’.

Request: Approval of a height increase to exceed the maximum allowed height of the

underlying zoning district for a mixed-use multi-family development. The proposed

height of the building is 60’, which exceeds the maximum building height within the

Central Business Commercial zoning district of 55’. Upon approval of Conditional Use

Permit No. 205-22, the Applicant will proceed with a Site Plan Review to site and

construct the development.
