Beat the Hood River Bridge Toll Hike: Opt for the Mt. Adams Transportation Bus

As many seek to balance their commuting budgets, the increased tolls might inspire a closer look at public transit options.

Hood River, OR, August 30, 203 – Residents are bracing for a toll increase on The Hood River-White Salmon Bridge which begins September 1st. But those who are concerned about the rate increase may be happy to hear that The Mt. Adams Transportation bus provides a sustainable, cost-effective, and convenient alternative to driving. The bus only costs $1 per ride for those aged 11 and older. In fact, taking the bus can save commuters between .75¢ and $2.50 per trip across the bridge. The bus travels in both directions across the bridge nine times daily.

Toll Rates Effective September 1, 2023:

CASH PAYMENTS:
Motorcycles (Class 0): $3.00
Passenger Cars & Pickups (Class 1): $3.50
Large trucks, RVs, Trailers, Busses (Class 2+): $4.00 PER AXLE

BREEZEBY:
Motorcycles (Class 0): $1.50
Passenger Cars & Pickups (Class 1): $1.75

As commuters begin making their autumn plans they will have to weigh the positive impact of both paying increased toll and supporting public transportation. Every toll contributes to a safer, more efficient crossing for all and each bus ride also contributes to a cleaner, more sustainable future for the community.

But Mt. Adams Transportation bus doesn't just save money—it's also a greener alternative, reducing the number of cars on the road and cutting down on emissions. For those concerned about both their wallet and the environment, this bus service may be the ideal choice.
