Hazardous Waste Recycling offered in TD and HR in Mid-November
The Dalles, Ore., Oct. 31, 2025 — The Tri-County Hazardous Waste & Recycling Program will hold hazardous waste collection events Nov. 14–15 at Hood River Garbage and The Dalles Disposal from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The events are open to households and small businesses in Wasco, Hood River and Sherman counties. Pre-registration is required. Participants can sign up at www.tricountyrecycle.com/HR&TD.
Agricultural producers may bring materials on Nov. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in The Dalles. Small businesses and agricultural producers must register by Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. using the form at www.tricountyrecycle.com/businessregistration.
Accepted materials include products labeled “caution,” “warning,” “danger” or “poison,” as well as septic field and drain cleaners, oven cleaners, gasoline, kerosene, other fuels, automotive fluids, pool and spa chemicals, fluorescent lights, thermostats, thermometers, art and hobby supplies, and more. The Tri-County Hazardous Waste & Recycling Program was established in 2003 through an intergovernmental agreement to build and operate permanent household hazardous waste facilities in Hood River and The Dalles, and to coordinate collection events across the region. Wasco County serves as the lead agency. The program collects hazardous waste from households, small businesses and institutions classified as Very Small Quantity Generators, as well as pesticide waste from farmers and ranchers. The program’s grand opening was held July 29, 2006.
