Northern Wasco County PUD just made it easier to help your neighbor.
Our local power provider has created a Roundup program that easily lets you donate a few cents at a time to folks needing help with their power bill.
For example, if your total bill is $55.35, the utility would round up your bill to $56.00, with the extra $.65 cents being deposited into the Neighbor to Neighbor fund.
So why would you do that?
Because our neighbors could use a little financial help from time to time, especially during the winter when heating bills run higher.
This is not a welfare program.
It is for emergency situations and disbursed on a case-by-case basis - one donation per eligible household up to $125 in 12 months.
Eligibility is established according to federally defined poverty levels and verification of eligibility is determined by our local Mid-Columbia Community Action Council / Community Action Partnership (CAP) office at 312 E 4th St. in The Dalles.
How you can participate
You can enroll in Roundup two ways:
Call our Customer Service Representatives, who can walk you through what is needed and email you the form to complete. Call 541-296-2226
Or click here on the Donation Form, complete it, and mail it to our office or email it to customerservice@nwascopud.org
Roundup is to address public-spirited needs in our community and offer financial aid to local individuals and families in need. Your donation will touch the lives of neighbors and strangers alike and help strengthen our bond as a community.
All contributions are tax-deductible.
