Body recovered at South Junction on the Deschutes River, July 13

The Deschutes River near Warm Springs, which is upstream from South Junction.

The Dalles, Or, July 14, 2023 - The Wasco County Sheriff’s Office received a report of body being found in the general location of South Junction on the Deschutes River, which is about 30 miles south of Maupin.

The discovery was reported on Thursday, July 13 at 7:50 p.m., according to the Sherrif’s log.

The body has been recovered by authorities. The cause of death was not stated.
