Tri-County Hazardous Waste & Recycling Program steering committee to hold meeting Sept. 10 at 9 a.m.
The Dalles, Ore., Aug. 26, 2025 — The Steering Committee of the Tri-County Hazardous Waste & Recycling Program will meet Sept. 10 from 9 to 10 a.m. The meeting will be accessible virtually upon request.
Representatives from Wasco, Sherman and Hood River counties, along with the cities of The Dalles, Hood River, Cascade Locks, Mosier, Dufur and Maupin, will review minutes, progress and financial reports, and other business.
The program was established in November 2003 through an intergovernmental agreement among the nine local governments. It built and operates permanent household hazardous waste collection facilities in Hood River and The Dalles and holds satellite collection events across the region. Wasco County serves as the lead agency.
The facilities and events collect hazardous waste from households, very small quantity generators such as businesses and institutions, and pesticide waste from farmers and ranchers. The program’s grand opening was held July 29, 2006.
