23-year-old man from TD arrested on DUII after Interstate 84 wreck near Mosier

The Dalles, Ore, March 8, 2024 - A 23-year-old man from The Dalles was arrested on Thursday, March 8 on a charge of DUII after the maroon Nissan Altima he was allegedly driving struck a Ford F-150 near Mosier on Interstate 84. 

Hector Villanueva Negrete was driving eastbound around 6:45 p.m. and passing other vehicles when he lost control, according to an Oregon State Police report by Trooper Jonathon Swiger. 

An investigation revealed that the driver of the Nissan struck a red F-150 pickup and struck the guardrail before coming to a stop. 

Negrete was injured in the wreck and was bleeding from the mouth and nose, according to the Wasco County Sheriff’s log. He was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants. The lone passenger in the Nissan was the owner of the vehicle.

Negrete was taken to NORCOR jail in The Dalles, and he was temporarily held on suspicion of DUII,  one count of reckless driving, and seven counts of recklessly endangering another person.

He was no longer on the jail roster at 1 p.m. this afternoon. 

River’s Edge Towing was called in to remove the Nissan.
