The Dalles, Ore. December 18, 2023 — There was a live nativity performance at Sorosis Park on Saturday, December 16. The event featured lively music, hot chili, desserts, homebaked goods and more.
This year marks Tha Last Days of Jesus Inc.'s 46th year hosting this fundraiser, and it will be the 3rd year using live actors. Several Churches helped with the event including First Christian Church, Gateway Presbyterian Church, and Covenant Church.
CCCNews spoke with Tim Vergori, 49, who was operating the lights and music for the nativity.
“We have been putting this on for the past 46 years. It’s a good opportunity to take in some donations,” said Vergori, “This is one of the nativity scenes we do, we also have another one for Easter event where we depict the death of Jesus in different spots all over The Dalles.”
The Last Days of Jesus performance schedule can be found here: https://www.ldoj.org/events
The nativity scenes consisted of actors dressed as shepherds, an angel bearing the good news, three traveling wise men, and Mary and Joseph attending to Jesus in the manger.
The event saw a good turnout as people stopped by for a bowl full of chili, desserts, and that good Christmas cheer.
