Dallesport, Wash., Oct. 1, 2026 — Community members are invited to an Oct. 29 open house to learn about and share feedback on long-term plans for Columbia Gorge Regional Airport. The airport is planning improvements that could support local economic development and meet the region’s general aviation needs over the next 20 years and beyond.

The open house will be held:

Wednesday, Oct. 29, 4 – 6 p.m.

Hood Aero Training Hangar

135 Airport Way, Dallesport, WA

Community members can drop in at any time during the open house to talk with airport staff, ask questions, provide comments, and review maps showing how the airport could evolve if interest from private developers and airport users increases over time.

Long-term concepts being considered include further development of the business park, runway and taxiway improvements, additional aircraft hangars, expanded aircraft parking, and a potential new terminal building. The planning process also evaluates updates to the airport layout and surrounding roads to meet current safety standards.

These concepts represent a long-term vision for the airport. Individual improvements would move forward only as warranted by future demand and would depend on factors such as private investment, regulatory approvals, and availability of federal funding.

Community feedback at the open house will help inform the final airport layout plan that staff will submit for FAA approval.
