The Dalles, Ore., July 7, 2026 — A Gorge man with ties to Glendale, Wash. and The Dalles is set to be arraigned on charges of second - degree murder and kidnapping in the the death of his fiancée, Meihong He on Thursday, July 9th in Klickitat County Superior Court.

He is expected to make a plea at that time.

The court appearance comes after Wasco County Circuit Court Judge Marion Weatherford agreed to release Richard Michael Robinson from Wasco County to Klickitat County authorities on June 30 as criminal cases against him continue in both Washington and Oregon.

Robinson was moved to the Klickitat County Jail on July 2nd and remains there on $1 million bail.

Richard Michael Robinson

In Oregon, Robinson separately faces a charge of second-degree abuse of a corpse in Wasco County Circuit Court after his fiancée decomposed remains were discovered inside a tote inside a storage unit in The Dalles more than a year after her disappearance.

According to court records, He, 39, went missing in late May 2024, just days before she and Robinson were scheduled to be married on May 30.

Friends knew her as "Kiki."

Robinson’s fiancée Meihong He is believed by prosecutors to have been killed by Robinson prior to her remains being found in the U-Haul storage facility in The Dalles.

Investigators said Robinson initially told family members and law enforcement that he had dropped He off to go fishing with friends in the Glenwood area and that she never returned.

After authorities tracked Robinson to Colorado in August 2025, detectives interviewed him following his arrest on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. During that interview, investigators said Robinson gave a different account, claiming two masked men of Asian descent attacked the couple inside their trailer.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Robinson later admitted he was present when He died and told investigators she was strangled inside the trailer. Rather than contacting law enforcement, he allegedly moved her body into the living room and went to bed.

Court records state Robinson admitted placing He's body inside a large plastic tote and driving for several days with the container in the back of his pickup truck. Investigators said he traveled as far as Tacoma for his daughter's birthday before eventually renting a U-Haul storage unit in The Dalles, where the tote was stored.

Authorities allege Robinson stopped paying rent on the storage unit, causing its contents to be sold at auction. On July 29, 2025, the buyer discovered the suspicious container and contacted The Dalles Police Department.

Investigators found He's remains inside a secured 77-gallon black plastic tote wrapped in plastic, ratchet straps and zip ties, according to court records.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined He died from asphyxiation after her airways were sealed with tape and plastic, and ruled the death a homicide.

Following the discovery, Klickitat County prosecutors charged Robinson with second-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping, alleging the killing occurred in Klickitat County.

Wasco County prosecutors subsequently charged him with second-degree abuse of a corpse for allegedly transporting and concealing the victim's remains in Oregon.

Court records also note Robinson has prior felony convictions in Washington involving second-degree child molestation and that he was living in Colorado under an alias when he was arrested in August 2025.

Robinson remains in custody as both the Washington homicide case and the Oregon abuse of a corpse case move through the courts. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
