The Dalles, Ore., Sept. 17, 2026 — Local art, handmade goods, food and music will come together Sept. 20 as The Makerspace 97058 hosts its first Art Harvest celebration at its Browns Creek Road property.
The event runs from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at The Makerspace 97058, 4510 Browns Creek Road in The Dalles. Admission is open to the public and no registration is required.
Art Harvest will feature work donated by Makerspace members and other community artists for a silent auction, along with tours of the property and its studios.
A live pie auction will feature homemade desserts served in handmade ceramic pie plates, giving winning bidders both something to eat and something to keep.
Food and music begin at 3 p.m., followed by the live auction at 4 p.m. Silent auction bidding closes at 4:30 p.m.
The Makerspace 97058 has operated at the Browns Creek Road property since October 2025, providing shared woodworking, glass arts, fiber arts and ceramics studios with equipment and tools available to members.
Recent classes have included felting, gelli printing, ice dyeing, raku ceramics, linocut printmaking, lampwork glassworking and introductory woodworking.
“The Makerspace is giving people in our community a chance to learn new skills and techniques, and through their membership to continue to practice what they learn,” board Chair Serena Smith said. “It also offers space to crafts people who may not have studio space or all of the equipment necessary to make all they dream of creating.”
The Makerspace 97058 is a nonprofit organization that provides shared creative space, equipment and educational opportunities for makers, artists and other community members.
