Ballot returns are setting records in Wasco HR counties

The Dalles, Ore., Oct. 22, 2020 — Voters in the mid-Columbia are wasting little time this election season.

Ballot returns for the general election are coming in at a record pace in both Wasco and Hood River counties.

In Wasco County, 4,868 of 2020 18,298 ballots have been returned or 26.6 percent, according to Wasco County Clerk Lisa Gambee.

In Hood River County 4,596 of 15,809 ballots have been returned or 29 percent, according to Brian Beebe Hood River County director of records and assessments.

Using the 2018 general election for comparison, Wasco and Hood River counties were at 16 percent and 15 percent respectively at this point in the election.
