Ken Catlin of Beachwood Eatery can bring the wings. The long-time resident of The Dalles said he and his wife, Nancy, were ecstatic to hear that restaurants will be able to open to 25 percent of dine-in capacity next week.

“It makes a big difference for me and more for my customers,” Catlin said Friday afternoon. “I’ve been getting support from the community, but we will be able to serve more drinks and increase food sales.”

“At least we can get some people in our door,” he said. “I hope we go to moderate, but getting 25 percent is better than nothing.”

If Wasco County falls into the moderate risk category would allow for restaurants to allow 50 percent capacity in dine-in areas.

Catlin said the opening for Oregon Lottery Games also has helped in the past weeks.

“I brought back 14 employees part-time,” he said.
”I am excited, and my wife is excited, and we’re ready to get our doors back open and get back to normal.”
