Bill Marick of The Dalles hooks onto his 1962 Willy’s outside of Adam’s Auto, this morning, Oct. 1. Marick, who has owned the vehicle for decades, was excited to be taking the it home where he plans to finish work to the motor. He said the Jeep was great when his three sons were learning to drive. It was impossible to kill in low range as they were learning to drive clutch. And it was also a dead give away when they were out and about driving. It was a good way to track kids before cell phones.

Marick said it was difficult finding the 6-cyclinder Chevrolet 250 engine block he needed to fix the vehicle. He ended up locating one in Troutdale and then Adam Knopf helped with putting the motor in and installing the head.
