Chamber to host Wasco County candidates forum ahead of May primary
The Dalles, Ore., April 2, 2026 — The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Wasco County candidates forum April 28 at the Mid-Columbia Senior Center, offering voters a chance to hear directly from candidates ahead of the May 19 primary election.
According to a press release from the Chamber, the event is intended to help community members make informed decisions by providing a structured opportunity to compare candidates across multiple races.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 6 p.m.
The forum will include candidates running for Wasco County commissioner positions No. 1 and No. 3, as well as races for U.S. Senate, U.S. representative for Oregon’s 2nd District, state senator for District 26, and state representative seats for Districts 52 and 57.

The event will be moderated by Rodger Nichols and will follow a nonpartisan format designed to ensure equal time and fairness for all participants. Community-submitted questions will be presented by the moderator, with each candidate given the same opportunity to respond.
The Senior Center is at 1112 W. 9th St., The Dalles.
