A tree fire today, Saturday, Feb 25, started around 11 a.m. at 1019 Mount Hood Street in The Dalles. The blaze was caused apparently by a heat lamp in a chicken coop that was under the tree. Firefighters quickly arrived and extinguish the blaze and wet down the neighboring house.

The tree that caught on fire was along west 10th St., as the property lies on a corner lot. According to police, no one was harmed in the blaze. A quick response led to a speedy extinguishing of flames.
Facebook posts following the fire stated that no chickens were injured.
