George Noory of Coast to Coast AM will go live from the Granada Theatre on May 27.

The Granada Theater in The Dalles presents George Noory Live! Coast to Coast - an up-close and in-person recreation of Coast to Coast’s late-night radio show featuring nationally-known broadcast personality George Noory, on Saturday, May 27.

“This is probably the biggest show I’ve ever done,” says Granada Theater owner Chuck Gomez. “Noory does one or two live shows a year, and my persistence has gotten him to The Dalles.”

Special guests for the evening include UFO abductee Travis Walton, Animal Planet’s Bigfoot Hunter Matt Moneymaker, and astronomer Steve "Dr. Sky" Kates. The night will also feature a live band that will play with Noory, who will sing some of his favorite tunes. Expect the evening to include a special salute to Veterans, and an audience Q&A.

Since 2003, Noory has hosted a nationally syndicated program on Coast to Coast AM, which airs on over 620 stations. His focus has been on paranormal phenomena, including “time travel, alien abductions, conspiracies and all things curious and unexplained.”

“For five years I’ve been reaching out to George Noory, because I listen to Coast to Coast late night radio, and it’s been the number one late night radio for 30 years. He has over 230 million listeners a month,” said Gomez.

“Since I invited him to do a show at The Granada Noory has been calling me up for the last five months. We talk about his show, and he told us what a historic, beautiful theater we have. But he also talks about The Dalles and what a beautiful town it is, how it’s full of history, has great shopping, there’s artwork everywhere and there’s live music in town. And I know that he’s letting his listeners know this on his radio show. To me, this is the biggest tourism promotion to ever hit The Dalles.”

Gomez says that the George Noory show has created ticket sales from at least 13 different states.

“We just got off the phone with people who are driving from Louisiana,” Gomez said. “We estimate 25% of America will be represented at this show.”

Gomez says the show will harken back to the Johnny Carson style of late-night TV.

“Noory will be the host, he’s the commentator, he has guests on the show just like Carson used to have. He’ll have a band, he’ll sing with the band. I don’t exactly know what songs he’ll do, but I do know he was a DJ from the 60s-70s era of music. He spent a decade in the Navy, so he’ll be giving a tribute to Veterans, too,” Gomez said.

Gomez says this event will be a live version of the late-night radio show. Noory’s guests will include Travis Walton, who has the distinction of having witnesses to his alleged alien abduction in 1975. Matt Moneymaker was on the Animal Planet Channel for 10 years, and has been involved in the “Search for Bigfoot,” show, and is considered the number one person for Bigfoot lore and information. Steve “Dr. Sky” Kates is an astronomer that talks about current astronomical events and provides a “Keep Looking Up,” segment to Noory’s Coast to Coast broadcast.

“They eventually made the movie “Fire in the Sky,” about Travis Walton,” Gomez said. “It was interesting because his witnesses said the light from the UFO came down gradually, and then lifted him up to the ship. He disappeared for five days.”

“In my decades of putting shows together, even with all the national bands that I’ve seen come through, getting George Noory into the Granada is truly my most exciting show I’ve ever worked on,” Gomez said. “It really puts The Dalles on another level in terms of reaching out to an audience.”
