Hood River, Ore., May 29, 2024— The Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance has unveiled their “30 Days of Gay” event schedule for LGBTQIA2S Pride Month, with a variety of events from book clubs to dance parties; game nights to lego builds; trivia to drag shows, there’s something for introverts and extroverts! No matter where you are on the rainbow spectrum.

There’s even a “Speed Friending” event for those who want a little help forging new connections with other LGBTQIA2S+ folx in the gorge!

The idea for Speed Friending, set to take place at The Wagon Social Club in Mosier on June 23rd came from the CGPA’s Youth Council.

“Our Youth Council meets twice a month and does a whole lot. They've put on successful events and have run a community needs assessment for the Gorge,” said Kit Barajas Clasen. CGPA Project Coordinator.

“This year for Pride, they wanted to host an event that would really address some of the community needs we saw in that data. A lot of folks in the queer community in the Gorge are wanting more connection with others. This Speed Friending event aims to address that directly, allowing folks to meet potential new friends and follow up later with folks they vibe with.”

Barajas Clasen gave thanks to the community for their support in helping to make planning Pride’s 2nd Annual 30-Days of Gay a success.

"Pride planning has gone really smoothly this year, largely in part to the community support we've seen. It's been so nice to see so many local businesses and organizations participating this year, whether that's putting on an event, donating to our raffle, or just sharing about the events on their social media pages” said Barajas Clasen.
