White Salmon, WA, February 15, 2024 – In an unfortunate accident, a 77-year-old driver from Glenwood was attempting to park her car in front of Everybody's Brewing on Jewett Boulevard in downtown White Salmon, when she ran over the curb and struck two women on Monday, Feb. 12th at about 12:45 p.m.

Bingen-White Salmon Police Chief Mike Hepner said that the driver was trying to get off the curb and went forward rather than putting the vehicle in reverse.

One of the women who was hit, a 74-year-old from Stevenson, sustained significant injuries and was life-flighted to a Portland hospital where she is recovering.

The other woman, a 71-year-old from Lyle, was taken by ambulance to Skyline Hospital where she is receiving care for her injuries.

Hepner said that no charges have been filed against the driver, but she was issued a citation.
