Neely Brothers push for customers in TD
By Tom Peterson
Xander and Vince Neely were doing some guerilla marketing on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 on E. 8th Street and Kelly Avenue. They were promoting their latest enterprise, window washing. Call (541) 300- 4829.
The two boys, ages 12 and 7 respectively, have been in the business of businesses for more than a year. This summer they held a how-to-make-lemonade stand - teaching people the finer points of pucker juice, using zest and sugar to really give it a kick. They also harvested the seeds from the lemons and also some Kiwifruit, dried them and then germinated them between paper towels before planting them in recycled containers. You may have seen them on Kelly Avenue selling the trees to the public at large. Xander said the Kiwis were 1-inch tall and the lemon trees 2-inches tall. “That’s because Kiwis grow slower,” he said.
Xander said the summer of 2019 was quite profitable as they helped older brother Wesley, 14, mow lawns. Xander said they earned $750. Wesley, meanwhile, earned $1,500 to buy a 1967 Chevrolet Impala to restore -”just like the car Dean has in Supernatural,” Xander said. Supernatural is a Warner Brothers series. In it, two brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons and gods that roam the earth.
