The Dalles, OR - After nearly two years of construction, the full weekend closures of The Dalles Bridge have finally come to an end.

“We are happy to report that the weekend closures have ended, and no more full weekend closures will be needed for this project,” reads the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) website.

Crews have finished replacing the driving surface (bridge deck) of the bridge but travelers should expect to see continued construction until the end of April.

Single lane closures will occur in the evenings during the week. There will also be two consecutive weekends in April with night time only closures of the entire bridge so that construction crews can place a smooth, continuous concrete surface over the entire length of the bridge.

Although paving schedules are weather-dependent, crews aim to announce the two April closure dates later this spring. Other construction impacts can be found on TripCheck.com, or by signing up for updates on the Central Oregon Region 4 weekly construction updates.

“We would like to thank everyone for all of their patience and understanding throughout this complicated project and the full weekend closures,” reads the ODOT website.
