WHITE SALMON HALLOWEEN EVENTS

Ghosts, witches, superheroes, and even mythical creatures will haunt downtown White Salmon this All Hallows' Eve! As the air grows crisp and leaves crunch underfoot, White Salmon prepares to cast its enchanting Halloween spell. Residents and apparitions (visitors, if you will) are summoned to partake in the Halloween festivities downtown on Tuesday, October 31.

Amidst swirling mists and echoing laughter, this magical night promises a cavalcade of characters—from timeless phantoms and goblins to present-day superheroes and charming sprites. Lovers of spooks, fun, and all things Halloween, heed the call and join the annual bewitching downtown celebration.

From 5-7 p.m., Jewett Boulevard (Hwy 141) will be a pedestrian-only zone between Garfield Avenue and Estes Avenue.

What's in store?

Haunted House - 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM

146 W Jewett Blvd

The Mt. Adams Chamber of Commerce, The Masons at White Salmon Lodge No. 163, and volunteers from other local community groups promise a haunted house experience fit for all ages. Venture in on the first-level and try to keep your wits as specters lurk in the shadows! Don't do scary? Go right upstairs to the Fun & Friendly Zone for treats, games and more.

Festival of Light - 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

60 NE Wauna Ave (Bubba’s Brew Espresso Parking Lot)

A Halloween tradition for over two decades, hosted by Grace Baptist Church, is back! Enjoy carnival games, fresh cider, nibble on enchanted cookies, and marvel at the masquerade of costumes.

Trunk or Treat - 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Mt Adams Elks Lodge, 124 NE Church Ave (next to the White Salmon Fire Hall)

What could lurk inside a trunk on the spookiest night of the year? Maybe a Frankenstein jumper cable? A witch’s first-aid kit? Or could it be ghosts, goblins, magic brooms, and creeping cobwebs? Wait, did we leave out the heaps of yummy candies?

Community Treats - 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Jewett Blvd between Estes Ave and Main Ave

Sorcerers, witches, and muggles alike—are beckoned to Jewett Boulevard to bestow treats upon eager little hands. We encourage everyone—individuals, groups, and businesses—to set up along Jewett Boulevard, hand out treats, and enjoy the best view of the costume parade. Please ensure all treats are commercially wrapped and sealed.

Costume Parade - 5:30 PM to 5:45 PM

White Salmon City Hall Parking Lot, 100 N Main Ave

Supported by the White Salmon Valley K-8 Parent Teacher Organization, strut your stuff or simply enjoy the parade of creative costumes. Margie’s Outdoor Store will lead the ghastly gang of participants down Jewett Boulevard.

The musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist, Dr Frank-N-Furter, unveiling his new creation, Rocky, a sort of Frankenstein-style monster in the form of an artificially made, fully grown, physically perfect muscle man complete "with blond hair and a tan".”

Viewing Advisory: The Rocky Horror Show is not for the faint of heart or pre-teen children. Due to the sexual nature of this show Big Britches Productions recommends youth under the age of 16 should attend only at a parent's discretion.

 About the Book

“The Graveyard Book” by Neil Gaiman

“IT TAKES A GRAVEYARD TO RAISE A CHILD.”

“Nobody Owens, known as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn’t live in a graveyard, being raised by ghosts, with a guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor the dead. There are adventures in the graveyard for a boy—an ancient Indigo Man, a gateway to the abandoned city of ghouls, the strange and terrible Sleer. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, he will be in danger from the man Jack — who has already killed Bod’s family. The Graveyard Book, a modern classic, is the only work ever to win both the Newbery (US) and Carnegie (UK) medals.
