The Next Door Inc. Launches New and Improved Website

From The Next Door Inc.:

By Jordan Flores

The Dalles Ore. March 18, 2024 — For the last several months, The Next Door Inc.’s (TNDI) Marketing and Development team has been working on redesigning our organization’s website. The team embarked on this much-needed project at the end of Summer 2023 to rethink the structure of our site and improve its accessibility to the people we serve, our partners, and our community. We're so excited to announce that you can now learn more about The Next Door on our new and improved website at https://www.nextdoorinc.org/

The newly reimagined site is a collaborative effort of several teams within our organization, devoted to increasing the understanding of the work we do in the Gorge by making our public-facing site more accessible to all. Before being published, the new website’s copy underwent a Plain Language review and rewrite by TNDI’s very own Equity & Outreach Training Services team. Plain Language centers language equity so that all written materials can be read and understood by readers of many literacy levels, a practice that is crucial to our organization’s operations.

"The Next Door has grown so much over the last decade to serve the needs of our diverse population,” says Amanda Lawrence, TNDI’s Director of Marketing and Development. “Our programs and staff support multiple communities by helping them navigate the challenges facing them. We are grateful to launch a website that will help people better understand and access our services.”

The new site offers easy-to-find program resources and information, upcoming outreach and fundraising event details, ways to give and get involved, a new donation platform, and more. The creation of a new color palette gave our website a fresh, modern look, while photographs provided by Julio's Photography and Paloma Ayala Photography accurately represent the people we serve and the areas we serve them in. We’re so grateful for the many efforts of our staff and the hours spent bringing this multi-year plan to fruition!

The Next Door Inc., (TNDI) the largest social service agency in the Gorge, was founded in 1971 to address the unmet need of support services for youth. Today, TNDI’s employees facilitate over 35 programs that strive to fulfill our mission of opening doors to new possibilities by strengthening children and families and improving communities in Oregon and Washington.
