The Dalles, Ore., May 14, 2025 — A head-on collision on Fourth Street in The Dalles near Safeway at about 2 p.m. blocked traffic for about an hour, but fortunately no one appeared to be hurt during the wreck.

A female driving a red Lexus towards Safeway apparently went over the center line and ran into the front end of a white Dodge Ram 2500 with a pusher guard on the front end.

A family from Murdock, Wash., were in the Ram 2500 and were running errands in The Dalles when they were hit. Neither the mother nor father or their 9-year-old son were injured. And the pickup sustained minor damage as the push guard on the front of the pickup took most of the impact.

The Lexus sustained major front end damage to the front driver’s quarter panel and was disabled.

The Dalles Police Chief Tom Worthy observes the damage to the Lexus as officers work to gather information and work toward getting the street cleared so that traffic could resume.

Rivers Edge Towing removed the vehicle from the site of the wreck.

Police and their vehicles were stationed on Third and Fourth streets to detour traffic while they helped opertors of the vehicles and investigated the crash.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
