The Dalles, Ore., Aug. 15, 2024 — Hikers are making their way from all over Oregon and Washington to take part in the Pacific Crest Trail Days Friday, Aug. 16 and 17.
It’s an infamous stop along the way as through-hikers traverse some of the Northwest’s most gorgeous country as it winds a total distance of 2,650 miles through California, Oregon, and Washington until reaching the Canadian border.
This weekend, hundreds of hikers will fill the Gorge town for great conversation, fun and a look at the latest and greatest hiking and camping gear.
Everyone is welcome and the price of admission is a suggested donation of a non-perishable food item or monetary contribution to the Columbia Gorge Food Bank.
The annual festival is being held at the Marine Park, with camping for hikers on Thunder Island, across the locks.
PCT Days celebrates and promotes hiking, camping, backpacking & outdoor stewardship. Attendees participate in activities, games, & presentations, win awesome gear at the raffle, and get great deals on the latest outdoor products from sponsors at the Gear Expo. The day featured talks about essential items to carry, leave no trace camping, as well a huge raffle at the end that raised thousands of dollars for trail stewardship.
