Goldendale Wash. March 22, 2024 — The Honkytonk Bar & Restaurant in Goldendale will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) in early April 2024.

“Oh yeah man, it is going to be awesome,” said owner Cameron Read today, March 22. “ We are super stoked for that. It will be a lot of fun and get our story out there, you know.”

Read, 25, operates the restaurant and bar with girlfriend Sarah Smith, 26.

The film crew is scheduled to show up on April 5, read said. “They’ll come in with a camera crew and get action shots and do an interview with us.”
America’s Best Restaurants is a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants.

Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owner Cameron Read about the restaurant’s special place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.

Read began work at Honkytonk part-time while also working with his father at Goldendale Exhaust and Auto Repair. In 2022, at age 23, he took over ownership.

Read’s vision for Honkytonk since the beginning was to provide a family-friendly environment - they close at 9 pm - with an upscale casual atmosphere and an excellent American-focused menu with a reasonable price point. Read upgraded menu items, particularly steaks, which they purchase locally, cut in-house, and grill on a flame top.

The menu offers a solid menu of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Menu items are creatively named, keeping the music theme, such as “Tammy Wynette’s Stand By Your Cran-Berries” salad or the ‘Headliners’ section where steaks, ribs, and surf-and-turf entrees are listed.

Beverages also take center stage with an impressive cocktail menu, twelve beers on tap, and a long thin bar top that runs between the main bar and the dining area, providing a place to stand with a drink while listening to live music from the stage in the front corner of the restaurant.
Honkeytonk also offers live music, special events, and shows.

America’s Best Restaurants will be filming on location on Friday, April 5th from 2 pm to 5 pm PST. The press is invited to attend. The restaurant’s finished episode premiere date will be announced on their Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website at https://americasbestrestaurants.com/rests/washington/the-honkytonk-bar-and-restaurant
