Hood River, Ore., Sept. 17, 2025 — The Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District is continuing its Pool Options Study to evaluate the future of the aging Hood River Aquatic Center.

Following a well-attended open house and initial community survey, three pool design concepts have been developed for the current site:

  • Concept 1: Renovation of the existing pools and replacement of the pool house (locker rooms, offices, lobby)

  • Concept 2: Full replacement of the pool with a new layout and updated features, maintaining the same square footage as Concept 1

  • Concept 3: Full replacement with a slightly larger facility and a different layout, designed to support future growth in community use and programming

An online survey is now available to provide residents with detailed information about the project. The survey includes background on the study, descriptions of each concept, a side-by-side comparison of features and estimated costs, and an opportunity to share feedback.

The survey is open through September 28 and can be found HERE. A Spanish version is also available HERE.

Community input will help guide the next steps in planning a facility that meets the long-term needs of Hood River residents.
