Hot Diggity Dog: Food Bank holds open house with Kids activities on May 3 in TD

Can you believe its been 2 years already - Sharon Thornberry, (center) helps to cut the ribbon on the new $3 million dollar food bank facility on Crates Way back in April 2023 .

From the Columbia Gorge Food Bank:
The Dalles, Ore., April 30, 2025 — Join us for a Community Open House event to learn about the important role your regional food bank plays in fighting hunger. Discover how we support families in need and find out how you can get involved through volunteering, donating, or spreading awareness.

We will also be holding a food drive.

The open house is an interactive event focusing on how the bank operates as well as having some fun activities. Enjoy the following:

  • Hot dogs (while supplies last)

  • Popcorn

  • Face painting

  • Kids games + activities

  • Guided tour of CGFB warehouse

  • PLUS a special visit from the Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue Fire Truck

BECAUSE NO ONE SHOULD BE HUNGRY, a mural created by Chris Pothier of The Dalles adorns the west end of the Columbia Gorge Good Bank in the Port of The Dalles.

Food on display shows attendees the kinds of items the food bank provides to the community at an event held in 2013.
