The Dalles, OR June 26, 2023 – In a turn of events, Jacob David Wilson, 32, was ruled unfit to proceed in court on May 18th. Wilson had been held on a charge of murder, unlawful use of a weapon, fourth-degree assault, and menacing in connection with the killing of Amber Tracy on April 5th in east The Dalles.

About the Case
According to Wasco County DA Matt Ellis, police were initially called to a home on 18th Street due to a disturbance report. Upon arrival, they discovered Tracy had been stabbed multiple times. The account reported by CCCNews in a prior article detailed how Wilson's mother, Tamera Viers, was present at the scene and had allegedly been struck by Wilson with a coffee can causing her to fall to the floor. When Tracy tried to intervene, Wilson retrieved a knife from a block and proceeded to stab her multiple times.
Tracy was rushed to Mid-Columbia Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased. The severity of the charges against Wilson prompted Defense Attorney Jerrett Glass to request immediate mental health assessments, highlighting Wilson's known severe mental health problems.
During the initial court hearing on the charges against Wilson, Judge Olson set Wilson's bail at $100,000 and issued orders for no contact with his mother or the residence on 18th Street.
