Winter Music Festival of The Gorge March 5

(Rescheduled from January) Winter Music Festival of The Gorge is a benefit for music programs in Hood River area schools, specifically the Matt Klee Memorial Fund, developed to celebrate Matt Klee’s life and dedication to bringing kids the experience of live music. Bands will include The Groove Cabin, The Junebug Boys, The Isolated Oscillators and the HRVHS Choir. Concert runs on Saturday, March 5, from 2-8 p.m. at The Ruins in Hood River. Tickets $12 in advance at

and the venue has COVID policies in place.

Flute Concert at St. Peter’s Feb. 26

A concert by Native American Music Award-winning flute musician James Edmund Greeley from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. in the Old St. Peter’s Landmark Church. This concert is free to the public and families are encouraged to attend. Sponsored by Vonda Chandler and The Dalles Art Center.

Kid’s Black History Month Book Club

The Hood River County Library presents “The Watsons Go To Birmingham, 1963,” an award-winning book for the Kid’s Black History Month Book Club.

Sign up (jana@hoodriverlibrary.org) and visit the library to receive a free copy of the book, receive email updates for pop-quizzes, prizes and extras. This book is meant to be read aloud with the whole family. Club runs Feb. 2-28.

History Museum opening March 1 

The History Museum of Hood River County is closed until March 1, volunteers are busy with a new planned exhibit centering around “the many social and technological changes revealed through 100 years of an everyday chore: Laundry.”

Art opening at Cathedral Ridge

Cathedral Ridge Winery hosts an art opening for Heather Marlow (Pastel and Jewelry art) and Brian Chambers (Landscape Photography) on Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 3:30-5 p.m.

It’s a Major Mardi Gras Shake Your Tailfeather Party on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Bingen Theater with the Funkship Columbia. Gather for a Mardi Gras Parade at 7 p.m. - followed by a set from local band Ravin at 8 p.m., and the Funk Soul of the Funkship Lifts Off at 9 p.m. Tickets at the Door.
