Kick off the Holiday Season with Starlight Parade, Family Night, Arts, Crafts, The Grinch and more Nov. 25th in TD

The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 33rd Starlight Parade and Community Tree Lighting on Friday, Nov. 25th in downtown The Dalles. The theme of this year’s parade is “Country Christmas” and is sponsored by the Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace.
The parade will begin at 6 p.m. and will be followed by the Community Tree Lighting at the TDAC, A.K.A. The Dalles Art Center.
“We will be providing cookies, coffee, hot cocoa, and popcorn as we celebrate our community and the beginning of the holiday season with some holiday fun,” said the TDAC press release.
Keep the fun going with The Dalles Civic from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with “Downtown Family Night” presented by The Dalles Main Street, The Dalles Civic, and Manion Studios. The event is being sponsored by JD Smith Jewelers, and Domino’s Pizza. The event will include a showing of The Grinch, family sleigh rides, a Christmas Card making station, letters to Santa station, and a cookie decorating station.
Denae Manion of Manion Studios will also offer a special Paint Night where participants can paint their own Snowman Ornament at 8:00 p.m. Interested parties can register at paintnite.com or in person on the day of the event.
Friday will also kick off the Shop Small Season.
Downtown The Dalles has encouraged the downtown businesses to stay open late to accommodate holiday shoppers.
