Larch Creek Fire Air support on standby through Thunderstorm, July 17
From the Oregon Department of Forestry:
Scattered thunderstorms and gusty winds impacted Southeast Wasco County and other parts of the state early this morning and only minimally impacted the Larch Creek Fire area.
Night crews improved containment and mop-up activities continue to expand. Fire personnel remain on stand-by to monitor for any starts caused by lightning strikes.
Air support from helicopters was being reassigned this morning as fires around the state are pressing for additional resources like the Cow Valley Fire, which is estimated at more than 133,000 acres in Malheur County in Northeast Oregon.
Check with Wasco County Sheriff's Office for evacuation information.
