Lindley earns AWC Certificate of Municipal Leadership

From the City of White Salmon:

The Dalles, Ore., Oct. 8, 2026 — White Salmon Council member and Mayor Pro Tem David Lindley has earned the Certificate of Municipal Leadership from the Association of Washington Cities.

David Lindley adds to his credentials.

The certificate recognizes Washington city and town elected officials who complete training in five core areas: legal requirements, roles and responsibilities and ethics; budgeting and financial management; infrastructure, transportation and land use; building safe, healthy and thriving communities; and effective local leadership.

“Being a city leader in Washington is a complex job,” said AWC CEO Deanna Dawson. “Through our CML program we are providing our elected officials with the knowledge they need to effectively operate within the law, plan for the future, secure and manage funds, foster strong relationships, and work to build more equitable communities.”

Lindley completed more than 30 hours of training to earn the certificate, demonstrating a commitment to effective municipal leadership and service to the White Salmon community.

“David’s commitment to continued learning strengthens both the City Council and the community we serve,” said Mayor Marla Keethler. “We congratulate him on this well-earned recognition and appreciate the time he has invested in becoming an even more effective municipal leader.”

Founded in 1933, the Association of Washington Cities is a nonprofit organization representing Washington’s cities and towns. AWC works to strengthen communities through education, member services, pooling programs and nonpartisan advocacy.
