Local Poetry Spotlight: Stud Walker

by Cole Goodwin and Judy Bankman

Welcome to Local Poetry Spotlight, a weekly poetry column dedicated to showcasing the poetry of local writers. At CCCNews we believe in the power of art and creative writing to heal, connect with one another, and build community, and that’s what the Poetry Spotlight is all about.

Meet This Week’s Poet: Stud Walker

Author Bio:
“I'm here in Wishram getting the work done,” said Walker.

What inspires you to write poetry?
The muses.” said Walker

A poem by Stud Walker:

Make a sanctuary in your mind,

a fortress, a sacred place,

where thinking stops and awareness begins.

Follow the path of deliberate deep breathing

to a place where your heart is full of easy bliss.

It’s the simplest thing in the world,

and a reconciliation of all discrepancies.

Stay tuned for more poems from local poets!
