Local Writers to Share Poetry and Stories on Saturday in TD

The Dalles, Ore., Aug. 19, 2025 — Neighbors will take the stage to share poems and stories during a community reading at the Wasco County Public Library on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Featured writers include:

  • Penelope Scambly Schott, poet and author, Dufur

  • Jewel Woolsey, poet, The Dalles

  • Bruce Lumper, poet, The Dalles

  • Nancy Turner, storyteller, The Dalles

  • Linda Kentro, poet, The Dalles

An open mic will follow as time allows. The event will be held on the library patio, or inside if the evening is too hot.
