This morning, Wednesday, Oct. 14, Brown Roofing crews worked to replace the old roof on the Victor Trevitt Guest House. The house was built in 1868. For a period of time, it sat in the City Park on Union Street. it was purchased for $7 by the Eagy family of Anzac Tea Parlor fame and moved to Fourth Street. Its restorations over time have made this once to be demolished home into an elegant Airbnb stay here in The Dalles.

The house is in the middle of a  large double lot and it features high ceilings, original pocket doors, stained glass windows, antique furniture, and buckshot in the siding, from an errant discharge some years ago when it sat at City Park.

The house is available to rent after its new roof is installed. Rentals and house specs can be found on Airbnb. “Visitors come here and say it’s so beautiful,” said Bev Eagy, who hosts the house on Airbnb.
