Margie's Outdoor Store's Paranormal Adventure Map Offers Real-World Adventure
By Cole Goodwin
Each year on May 3rd, believers get together to talk about their strange experiences, but at Margie’s Outdoor Store in Bingen, WA everyday is National Paranormal Day.
“Margie’s Outdoor Store is no stranger to strange things. It is the only place in the Gorge where you can file a paranormal report and not be judged,” reads their new website.
Known as the most unusual store in the gorge, the outdoor store offers a one-stop shop for quality outdoor gear, curio, divination tools, and exclusive insider knowledge on paranormal activity in the region.
And now they’ve compiled some of that knowledge into a new tool for locals and tourists alike.
“We’re calling it the Arcane Adventure Map,” says James Szubski, who owns Margie’s Outdoor Store.
The map offers a full-color illustrated guide to the region’s most intriguing and mysterious paranormal hot spots in the Columbia River Gorge and is available exclusively at Margie’s Outdoor Store.
The guide contains excerpts from paranormal reports filed at Margie’s Outdoor Store, alongside detailed illustrations, detailed directions to paranormal hot spots, beautifully hand drawn maps, local lore, legends, and history.

The map certainly boasts a lot of paranormal information that is sure to spark the curiosity of anyone who reads it.
Szubski has also been involved in trying to utilize paranormal activity in the area as a local economic engine for the county.
“Paranormal activity is a natural resource here in the gorge,” says Szubiski “And it's something folks should pay attention to because it's part of what makes this area special and unique.”
He notes that paranormal tourism is a multi-million dollar industry that attracts people from around the world.
But for Szubksi, it’s not just about the money.
It’s about providing a non judgmental space to share your experiences, embrace wonder, and to be curious about the nature of reality.
So far, Szubski has received and investigated over one hundred paranormal reports.
He says some of the most common reports include sightings of UFO's, glowing orbs, Sasquatch, and the Klickitat Ape Cat, a strange and locally famous muscular cat with ape-like features.
