MCCAC Hires Leslie Naramore as Executive Director

The Dalles, Ore., July 22, 2025 — Mid-Columbia Community Action Council (MCCAC) is pleased to announce that Leslie Naramore has been hired as the agency’s Executive Director. Leslie will officially begin her new role on August 1 after serving as Interim Executive Director since February of this year.

“We are thrilled that Leslie has accepted the role of Executive Director of MCCAC. During her time as Interim Executive Director, Leslie has demonstrated her ability to lead the organization through transition, prioritizing support of our staff team while ensuring uninterrupted programming to the community,” said Joan Bird, Chair of the MCCAC Board of Directors. “Leslie has also proven her capacity to lead the agency’s response to unexpected needs, including during severe winter weather and in the aftermath of the Rowena Fire.”

Leslie brings eleven years of professional experience in local community action and non-profit management, including more than seven years serving as the Executive Director of the MCCAC’s counterpart in Klickitat and Skamania Counties, Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP).

“I care deeply about the work of community action and am honored to have been chosen to continue with the MCCAC team as Executive Director. Over the past six months, the MCCAC staff has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the agency through a period of transition and instability,” said Naramore. “I’m excited to continue working with the MCCAC staff and community partners moving forward and to see our work affect tangible change in the community over time.”
