Attention all home decor enthusiasts!
A new store is about to open its doors at 163 N Main Ave in White Salmon, WA on May 13th, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Set in an old car-wash, in downtown White Salmon, this newly repurposed space may just become your new go-to destination for all things home goods and furniture.
Marcel, is the brainchild of local entrepreneur Amy Nowatzki, this one-of-a-kind home goods store that specializes in secondhand, thrifted, recycled, artisan, and craftsman pieces that will transform your living spaces into beautiful and unique environments.
The store is aptly named after Amy's beloved dog, Marcel, who is now passed but who taught her the importance of play, and joy. With this in mind, Amy has curated a collection of carefully selected pieces that reflect the store's philosophy of reducing waste, repurposing previously loved items, and bringing creativity to our everyday lives.
The store's inventory includes everything from affordable thrift store finds to high-end, one-of-a-kind artisan-made pieces. No matter your budget, you're sure to find something that speaks to your style and taste. Marcel encourages everyone to stop in, hang out, and be inspired!
Marcel can also help you select items to create a cohesive look in your home that reflects your personality and lifestyle.
“I love to style! I want to teach people that previously loved is okay and you can style it and make it look cool in your house,” says Amy.
Amy is excited to bring her vision of sustainable and stylish home goods to the community.
"We're not just selling furniture and decor, we're selling a lifestyle that values sustainability and creativity," she says. "Marcel is about inspiring people to think differently about their living spaces and showing them that they can have beautiful, unique homes without harming the environment.”
“Everything in my life is secondhand. My home is very small but it’s a little piece of artwork that I change all the time,” she says.
The store itself is planned to be half-home goods, half art studio. So if you’re an artist or art teacher looking for a space to host your art or art classes be sure to come check out the space.
“I’m open to ideas,” says Amy.
On top of trying to have a positive impact on the environment she also wants to give back to the community.
“Sometime down the line I want to run weekend sales where a percentage will go to a local organization in need,” she says.
The store's grand opening is on May 13th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m, which also happens to be the White Salmon Wine Walk and Amy’s birthday! So be sure to mark your calendars, grab some wine, stop in and get ready to discover the joys of sustainable home decor!
Regular Hours: The shop is open by appointment and will host quarterly pop-ups; however, if the yellow sign is out, Amy says to please wander in!
