Business Blossoming in TD; downtown energy bubbling up
By Tom Peterson
Imma Royal and Theo Ward cut the ribbon at Nana I Ke Kumu today, Friday, April 1st.
It was long-awaited.
Royal and Ward moved into the storefront at 413 W. 2nd St. back in January of 2020 and quickly renovated the space to a glorious backdrop of vivid paintings, crystals, and antiques.
But given the flow of things, they waited on their ribbon cutting until the Downtown was bubbling with energy once again.
And boy is it bubbling.
It’s easy to name a half dozen new businesses in town.
Starseed Curiosities and Gifts, 404 Washington St.; House of A La Mode, 215 Court St.; Cybermind Gaming LLC, 318 E. 2nd St.; Wyn House, 104 E. 4th St.; and Blossomly Boutique, 509 E. 2nd St. have all opened in a flurry in the last few months.
The Dalles Mayor Rich Mays said this was his third ribbon cutting in the last 30 days.
Mays and his wife Rose said they were having a blast seeing the local shops come to life downtown.
Back at Nana I Ke Kumu, Imma Royal, said she had several free Yoga and meditation classes she will be offering in light of the ribbon-cutting.
Free Yoga classes are set for Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Meditation classes will precede Yoga, with start times of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
In addition, she is offering a free Teen Yoga class on Wednesdays at 6 p.m.
The Ribbon cutting was pretty awesome as well with Cupcakes by Cyndi Camp.
Imma and Theo set down roots and opened up the non-profit, non-denominational, life coaching organization, Nana I Ke Kumu, in downtown The Dalles in 2020.
Nana I Ke Kumu seeks to connect seekers to their values, their breath, their spirit, and the tools they need to live happier, healthier, and more fully realized lives through coaching techniques that blend everything from modern psychology, business, sales, and marketing success trainings, to mysticism, yoga, and astrology.
