One Last Fling at Tree Top Play Park

One Last Fling at Tree Top Play Park

The Dalles, Ore., Sept. 20, 2024 — Maisy Smith, 5, of The Dalles, lands on her feet to chase after her sister Audrey, 9, this morning at Tree Top Play Park at Sorosis Park.

The girls were also chased by their mom and dad - Darien and Keegan Smith as they enjoyed the sunny morning.

The park will be dismantled in days to come to make way for a brand new play park that will be constructed this fall.

Tree Top Play Park was constructed in 1997 with a huge community push.

“What a wonderful community collaboration it was!” said local Elizabeth Quinn recently. “Built in five days with 1000 volunteers. And at least 1000 more gave money and helped decorate the park.”

Names on tiles and boards adorn the park from that donation drive, and those pieces of the structure will be carefully removed and given back to the people who made the donations next week. CCCNews will provide more information on that in days to come.

In the meantime, read CCCNew’s original story about the new play park and other happenings at Sorosis here.
