The Dalles, Ore., March 2, 2026 — “The Boys of ‘61” is the topic of the Saturday, March 7th Vercouteren Regional History Forum at the Original Wasco County Courthouse.

Ft. Dalles Museum Coordinator Robert Pollock will explain the history and legacy of the Grand Army of the Republic or G.A.R. This once large and politically powerful nationwide organization was made up of veterans of the Civil War and was active in The Dalles.

The program begins at 1:30 p.m. in the courtroom of the 1859 Courthouse, located at 410 W. 2nd Pl, The Dalles. Admission is free, donations accepted.
