The Dalles, Ore., Aug. 29, 2025 — PEO Chapter EJ has announced scholarship awards to local women Kylee Rose, Jenny Loughmiller, Piper Neal, Madison Troutt, and Kilee Hoylman, totaling $8,050. The women were recently recognized at Chapter EJ’s regular luncheon meeting.
Chapter EJ awards a scholarship each year to a graduating senior from The Dalles in memory of Lois Kimsey, a founder and long-time member of Chapter EJ. Additional scholarships are awarded to local women sponsored by Chapter EJ through the Oregon State PEO in amounts varying from $1,000 to $3,000.
Kylee Rose, a 2025 graduate of The Dalles High School, is an incoming freshman at the University of Portland, planning to major in psychology. Kylee is very excited to start this new chapter of her life.
Piper Neal, of Dufur, will be a senior at Oregon State University with a major in wildlife conservation, emphasizing fish and wildlife. Piper plans to work in that field upon graduation.
Jenny Loughmiller of The Dalles is returning to school after an extended absence during which she raised her four children and was a successful small business owner. Jenny has been accepted into the nursing program at Columbia Gorge Community College and looks forward to serving her community in a new way.
Madison Troutt
Madison Troutt is attending the Oregon Institute of Technology with a goal of becoming an ultrasound technician. She is currently in an externship, learning to apply her skills in a real-world setting. Maddie’s plans include returning to The Dalles and practicing her skills locally.
Kilee Hoylman
Kilee Hoylman is in her second year of nursing school at OHSU. Kilee graduated from the Dalles High School and studied at Mt Hood Community College before entering the nursing program at OHSU. Her nursing specialty is undetermined at this point.
Awarding scholarships is a significant part of PEO's mission to provide educational opportunities for women in our community. Chapter EJ is honored and proud to help women be successful as they discover who they are and what they want to be.
