Plane Crashes Near Hospital in The Dalles

The Dalles, Ore., October 20, 2023 – A plane crashed southeast of Columbia Gorge Adventist Health, formerly known as Mid-Columbia Medical Center last night. Wasco County Dispatch received a call at 8:56 p.m. reporting flames southeast of 1700 E 19th Street in The Dalles. Shortly after, it was determined to be a plane crash.

Responding units included Mid-Columbia Fire Rescue, City of The Dalles Police, and Wasco County Sheriff's Office. A small brush fire burned roughly 2.5 acres and a BPA transmission line was damaged due to the crash.
The aircraft was a Cessna 152 with one person on board. The pilot suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. The plane had been traveling from Redmond Municipal Airport to the Columbia Gorge Regional Airport.
