Pride of the Neighborhood: Chrismans awarded for visual stunner

Sharon Chrisman is all smiles behind a beautiful hydrangea that is pushing pink at her home at 1527 E. 9th St. in The Dalles. She and her husband just won the beautification award for October. And it was well deserved. This couple has transformed their home.

Chris and Sharon Chrisman, on either side of the award sign, are with TD Mayor Rich Mays; Mary Beth Richman, Columbia Gorge Real Estate; Beautification Committee Members Connie Krummrich, John Nelson, Kelsey Alsheimer and Wasco County Master Gardeners Bill Marick, Nancy Lingo, and oh, Alsheimer is in that group as well. Double Major!!!

Sharon and Kevin Chrisman should be superheroes with the power to transform.

Wonder Twins Unite!

That’s because they have transformed their home at 1527 E. 9th St., The Dalles.

And it’s a knockout.

Like, Muhammad Ali-style knockout.

It has not gone without notice.

Their gardening and upgrades floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee.

They were recently awarded the City of The Dalles Beautification Award for October from who else - The Beautification Committee.

Wood structures, bells and pottery offset the greenery of the vegetation on a Columbia River ponder.

Flower beds and bushes soften the home that is now painted in an earth tone.

A window set askew provides a lovely backdrop for these climbing roses.

A unique water feature tumbles onto some well-placed columnar basalt. What is hiding under those leaves.? If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow, Don’t be alarmed now, It’s just a spring clean for the May Queen. - Led Zeppelin.

Iron and weathered wood welcome you just sit awhile and for a good conversation. Dinner might be nice too ;)
