The Great Wall of Scenic View

Glenn Harding, Tom Olson and Loren Sudan work out the bumps in the gravel fill behind a retaining wall erected in the 400 block of Scenic View Drive, this morning, Thursday, March 4.

Olson said each block in the wall weighed 1,700 pounds and the site will eventually sport some 500 of the blocks in order to retain the hillside for a new home that will be constructed on-site.

Next door, a home recently sold for more than $1 million. Prices are, no doubt, strong in this seller’s market in The Dalles. Harding Olson and Sudan have been on this project for six weeks and they have another job already lined up. Its just up the street.
