TD son, Victor Johnson in his hobo years. Hopefully, the bulldogs all had rubber teeth.

The Dalles, Ore., May 17, 2024 — Once upon a time in The Dalles, Victor Johnson was an undiscovered man on guitar.

Victor tells us his first paid gig in The Dalles was at this restaurante in the photo above, which was the happenin’ spot in the early 1990s. It was run by Leonard Cooper, and he added a Cantina for some extra tequila and tunes.

This week, we want to know the name of this restaurante.

A little hint: It was located by the old Albertson’s and the name? You could say a river runs through it.

Send your answers to tom@cccnews.com by Sunday, May 19 at 6 p.m.

Those that get it correct will be entered into a raffle and a winner will be chosen and announced next week. And this ain’t just for braggin’ rights. There’s gold to be had for good answers.

Tell them what they are playing for, Derek.

“That would be a $25 gift certificate to Shannon’s Ice Cream, where waffle cones are waffled daily and filled with handmade scoops of helado or nieve. Try the Paw Paw Fruit, bruh!

Shannon’s Ice Cream is open daily from noon to 9 p.m. at 318 E. Fourth Street in The Dalles, across the street from the Civic Auditorium.
