Shannon's Trivia: Hood River had a Navy?

Ok, puzzlers, we’re going out to sea, er, well, docking on the Columbia.

If you look above you can see a military boat docked near Nichols Boat Works in the Port of Hood River. The photos is from the 1960s.

Minimally, what we are looking for is the official name of the vessel.

And if you're a Captain of this quiz, you can tell us the years it was docked in the Hood River Port.

And if you want to get to Admiral status you will tell us where the vessel was foundered.
