Single Lane to remain closed on West Sixth through Nov. 25 for striping

The Dalles, Ore., Nov. 21, 2025 — A single-lane traffic restriction on West Sixth Street will remain in place through the end of the day Tuesday, Nov. 25, to maintain a clean surface for pavement striping and markings, Crestline Construction announced.

During the extension, all northbound traffic will be detoured at Snipes around the work area. Sixth Street will operate as a single southbound lane between Snipes and Chenowith Loop. The Hostetler underpass is now open.

A traffic control plan outlining detours and alternate routes has been provided. Crestline Construction said the full width of the road will reopen to the public once striping and pavement markings are completed.

The company is urging motorists to use alternate routes, follow posted traffic control, and remain alert for increased construction equipment and activity in the area. Crestline said it appreciates the community’s patience as work continues on City of The Dalles improvements.

For more information, residents may contact Crestline Construction’s main office at 541-506-4000 and ask for project manager Jeff Pettenger or operations manager Bill Ketchum.
